Description
This is an original Ketubah. The Aramaic text was hand lettered into a “box” of sorts, above the image of the Yemen Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem with the iconic Montefiore Windmill. The area was of special significance to the bride and groom.
The Hebrew quote around the upper border of the text translates to “This is the day that God has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it.”
The palm tree and the tiger lilies are meaningful to the couple, and the tallit above the text, as if it were a Chuppah, was made from the tallit (prayer shawl) of the groom’s grandfather, which held special meaning as well. The Ketubah is illuminated with 23 karat gold leaf.
